Roger Dale Parham of Fort Smith, Arkansas after ID’d as 1999 Homicide Victim

Roger Dale Parham Death – Human remains were found in Lake Barkley, which is located in Lyon County, Kentucky, by two fishermen in the month of May in the year 1999. It was discovered that the individual had been anchored using a hydraulic jack and was wrapped in hefty bicycle chains. After further investigation, it was established that the remains belonged to a white male who was between the ages of 25 and 45 years old.

The individual was assessed to have a height of between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet 1 inch and a weight of roughly 225 pounds. A white t-shirt with the words “No Fear Sports Bar” printed on the front and the words “No Fear Gear” printed on the back was worn by the individual. Additionally, he wore a green Reebok jacket, a nylon jacket with a Dallas Cowboys logo, blue trousers with a size 38×30, a black leather belt, white socks, and tennis shoes with a size 10.5 shoe.

When the investigation was being conducted, the detectives were unable to identify the man using the conventional methods of investigation. It was decided to develop a forensic composite that would show how the individual would have appeared throughout his lifetime and then make it available to the general public. The body of the victim was exhumed in the year 2016, with the expectation that additional examinations might eventually assist in the identification process.

Despite the enormous attempts that were made to identify the individual, including the use of DNA technology, dental examinations, forensic pathology, and other advanced forensic tests, the man was not found. The National Missing and Unidentified Person System (NamUs) has been updated with the case information, which has been assigned the number UP75. There was a submission of forensic evidence from the Kentucky State Police to Othram in The Woodlands, Texas, in the year 2023.

Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing® was utilized by the Othram scientists once they were successful in developing a DNA extract. This allowed them to construct a thorough DNA profile for the individual. The profile was utilized by Othram’s in-house forensic genetic genealogy team during a genetic genealogy search, which resulted in the development of new investigation leads that were then transmitted back to the investigators.

With the help of these fresh leads, officers from the Kentucky State Police carried out a follow-up investigation and established contact with a possible family of the individual who remained nameless. As a result of our inquiry, the individual was recognized as Roger Dale Parham. Congratulations! In the year 1999, Parham considered Fort Smith, Arkansas to be his home. Parham was facing a number of criminal accusations at the time, and he was waiting for his trial. In March of 1999, Parham vanished, and it was believed that he had fled the area in an attempt to avoid being prosecuted for his disappearance.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has charged Mr. Parham with further offenses and is conducting an ongoing investigation into his location. Up until this point, the disappearance of Parham has remained a mystery. However, due to the strange circumstances in which the remains were discovered, this case is being investigated as a homicide. The cause of death of Roger Parham has not been identified.
