Colleen Hunter Obituary, Death – Colleen F. (Diehl) Hunter, a beloved member of the Bethlehem community, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of passion, dedication, and service. Her journey in education began at Hellertown-Lower Saucon High School and continued at Kutztown State College, where she earned her BS Ed. Later, she pursued further education, obtaining her M Ed and MA in English from Kutztown University.

A Life of Education and Influence: Colleen was born in Fountain Hill and raised in Hellertown. Colleen dedicated over 40 years to the field of education, impacting countless lives as a secondary English teacher and later as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Allentown Central Catholic HS. She served as Secretary of the Bethlehem Area Public Library Board of Directors, represented the Borough of Fountain Hill on various committees, and held the position of President of the Fountain Hill Exchange Club.

A Pillar of Community Engagement: Beyond the classroom, Colleen was deeply engaged in her community. Her commitment to civic duty and community welfare was unwavering. Colleen shared 60 years of marriage with her loving husband, Robert L. Hunter. Together, they raised a family and built a life enriched with love and companionship. She is survived by her son, Thomas R. (Brenda) Hunter, her daughter, Erin C. (Carlos) Roman, and her siblings, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply.
