For many years, Mona dedicated her time and love to our feline friends in the cat room. Her passion for animals and her gentle spirit brightened the lives of countless shelter cats, offering them comfort and care during their stay with us. The photo captured on Mona’s 90th birthday, taken right here at the shelter, serves as a poignant reminder of her unwavering commitment, as she continued her volunteer duties even on such a special day.

Her enduring love story with her husband, Wally, spanning 65 years until his passing in 2015, exemplifies the depth of her character and the richness of her life. Together, they raised a beautiful family of five children, leaving behind a legacy of love that extends through 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
