Doug was born on August 25, 1950, in Bristol, Virginia, and spent his entire life in the Bristol area. His sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972. After his military service, Doug dedicated over 40 years of his life to Permatile Concrete Products, where he was known for his hard work and dedication to his craft.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Doug was a talented guitarist who shared his passion for music with the community. He was a fixture in local rock bands, including The Captives and Montage, where his skillful melodies brought joy to countless audiences. The funeral service for Doug will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with military honors. Prior to the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects at Weaver Funeral Home on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
