Born in Plainfield to John and Delia (O’Toole) Sullivan, Thomas had a vibrant youth marked by academic excellence and athletic prowess. His achievements included clinching the 1949 State Championship in Pole Vaulting, a testament to his determination and skill.
Family and Entrepreneurship: After serving in the United States National Guard, Thomas married his devoted wife Peggy, sharing sixty-nine wonderful years together. Their journey included raising five children in South Plainfield before settling in Whitehouse Station in the late 1970s. Thomas’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Sullivan’s Auto Repair Shop in 1961, a business that remains a cherished family legacy to this day. Beyond his professional endeavors, Thomas had a zest for life. He cherished his two antique vehicles, a ’23 Ford Depot Hack and a ’31 Ford Model B Pick-Up, and enjoyed fishing in both freshwater and saltwater. A talented musician, he could effortlessly play various instruments and found joy in music.
