Sandra Martens Obituary, Death – Sandra Claire Martens, born on April 25, 1942, in Fond du Lac, WI, was the daughter of Rufus and Olive Tank. Growing up on the family farm in Van Dyne, WI, Sandra imbibed values of hard work and compassion from her rural upbringing. After graduating from Rosendale High School in 1959, she pursued her higher education at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

 Marriage and Family Life 

In 1963, Sandra exchanged vows with Gerald “Jerry” William Otto Martens at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Van Dyne. Their union was blessed with four children: Scott, Richard, Matthew, and Kristyn. Sandra and Jerry moved to Mequon, WI, where they embarked on their journey of love and family.

 Professional Journey 

Sandra’s professional journey was marked by her dedication to education. Initially working as a teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools, she later chose to focus on raising her children full-time. However, her passion for teaching persisted, leading her to volunteer in educational roles. Upon settling in Egg Harbor, WI, Sandra resumed her teaching career, enriching young minds at Sevastopol School until her retirement in 2002. Even after retirement, she continued to volunteer, leaving a lasting impact on her students.

 Legacy and Final Farewell 

Sandra’s legacy is one of love, family, and service. An active member of Zion Lutheran Church, she cherished spending time with her loved ones and enjoyed activities such as swimming and socializing with friends. Despite the loss of her beloved husband Jerry in 2017 and her son Matthew in 2019, Sandra’s love endured, touching the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
