On September 15, 2021, Richard vanished without a word. He left behind a plethora of memories and a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. Richard was the head of a big, devoted family in addition to being a husband, father, and grandfather.

After being in love for 57 years, Fay Herrera, better known by her stage name Tootsie, wed her partner in May 1964. They went on an incredible adventure together. Their combined offspring comprised three daughters, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, making for a beautiful family. Richard’s zeal for life was evident in his love of sports. Whether he was practicing karate or playing baseball with pals, he liked to stay active.
A Sporting Enthusiast and Achiever
Additionally, he had the incredible chance to spar with the late great Sugar Ray Leonard. Richard excelled in track at San Jacinto High School, where he won multiple gold medals during his high school career. Richard found the most delight in his family. He loved spending time with his three girls, making treasured experiences at home and on exhilarating rides at Disneyland and other theme parks. He carried on the family custom of encouraging his grandkids as they proudly played basketball and baseball.

Extrovert and gregarious, Richard was well-known for his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. His kind disposition made him a well-liked and well-known figure in the community. His life provided as an example of the advantages that could result from treating people with kindness and hospitality. A fund has been established to help with the costs of Richard’s cremation and urn, in accordance with his desires.
