A Journey of Dedication
Father Tom’s life journey was marked by unwavering dedication to service. His decade-long tenure in the Canadian Armed Forces, both in the Regular and Reserve Force, as a medical assistant, showcased his commitment to the well-being of others. Following his calling, he embarked on a new path, earning his Bachelor of Divinity degree and entering the clergy, where he continued to serve with utmost devotion.
Pillar of Community Support
Within our community, Father Tom’s impact was profound. As a stalwart supporter of the Westport Legion for 22 years, he wore many hats, serving in various capacities and offering invaluable guidance to the Branch Executive. His presence was a constant at our Monday night Bingo, where his warmth and camaraderie uplifted spirits for decades.
Fondly Remembered, Forever Honored
Father Tom’s contributions extended far beyond the Legion halls. He was a cherished member of the Westport Ministerial Association and volunteered his time as the Clergyman for the Westport Fire Department. His involvement with the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics endeared him to many, especially through his dedication to organizing Remembrance Day ceremonies. Father Thomas Montgomery Dorward’s legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for others.
