Matt Primomo Death, Obituary – With great grief, we must inform you of the demise of one of our own, Matt Primomo. The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) regrets to inform you of this information. On Thursday, March 7th, Matt, a highly respected avalanche forecaster, tragically went away in an unrelated incident. Even as we attempt to come to terms with this terrible loss, we would want to take a moment to reflect on the significant impact that Matt had on our organization and the mountain community as a whole.
NWAC’s Fundamental Aspect Since 2017: After joining NWAC in 2017, Matt Primomo immediately established himself as an important member of our team. His unwavering attention to comprehending and forecasting avalanche conditions won him the respect and affection of his peers and colleagues. Every forecast Matt made showed how passionate he was about his work, and he made a big difference in the safety of people passing through the mountainous regions of the states that comprise the Pacific Northwest.
