Dolly Michener Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, Dolly Michener, who departed peacefully on February 21st, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Though grief fills our hearts, we find solace in celebrating the vibrant life she led. Dolly leaves behind cherished memories for her daughters, Barb and Judy, their families, and a wide circle of friends. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her love and laughter touched the lives of all who knew her.
A Journey Well-Traveled: Dolly’s journey was adorned with various roles and accomplishments. From her dedicated years at Dominion Fabrics to her service as a registered nursing assistant, she touched the lives of many through her work at Macassa Lodge and Chedoke Hospital. Even in retirement, she continued to enrich her life through sports, excelling in baseball, golf, curling, lawn bowling, and gardening.
A Passion for Sports and Creativity: Dolly’s zest for life was evident in her passion for sports and creativity. She traveled far and wide with her ladies’ traveling ball team, leaving her mark on fields across North America. Her talents extended beyond the sports arena, as evidenced by the numerous ribbons she earned for her baking, knitting, quilting, canning, and gardening entries at local fairs.
A Heartfelt Thanks: The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Highgate Retirement Home in Ancaster and the compassionate palliative care team at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton for their exceptional care and support during Dolly’s final years. A celebration of Dolly’s life will be held on May 11, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Marshall Memorial Church in Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marshall Memorial Church or St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton in Dolly’s memory.
