Bob was born on October 19, 1928, in New Haven, CT, to Mary and Vincent Carangelo. His educational journey began at Edgewood Grammar School, followed by Sheridan Junior High School, culminating in his graduation from the prestigious Hopkins School. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Bob attended Brown University from 1946 to 1950 before earning his Juris Doctor of Law degree from Georgetown University Law School between 1950 and 1953.

After completing his education, Bob embarked on a distinguished legal career marked by integrity and professionalism. He started as a Casualty Adjuster and Claims Examiner at Allstate Insurance Company before joining the Offices of John C. Flanagan as an associate in law. His expertise led him to serve as the Probate Judge for Orange, CT, a testament to the community’s trust in his abilities.
