Kelly Houle Obituary, Member Of Sunshine House Has Passed Away
Kelly Houle Obituary, Death – With profound sadness, we announce the passing of a beloved member of the Sunshine House community, Elder Kelly Houle. Kelly’s presence has been an integral part of Sunshine House from its early days, and her contributions have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
A Pillar of the Like That Program
Kelly’s dedication to the Like That program was unparalleled. As Granny Kelly, she played a pivotal role in its inception and growth during its formative years. Her warmth, wisdom, and nurturing spirit created a safe haven for many who sought refuge and support within Sunshine House’s walls.
Kelly’s leadership extended beyond the confines of Sunshine House as she spearheaded the organization of the first Two-Spirit Pow Wows. These gatherings celebrated Indigenous culture and provided a platform for cultural exchange and community bonding. Kelly’s commitment to preserving and sharing Indigenous traditions enriched the lives of all who participated.
A Beacon of Compassion and Service
In her later years, Kelly continued to serve her community selflessly. She lent her expertise to various committees at Sunshine House and served as the dependable Granny at the Mobile Overdose Prevention Site (MOPS). Her compassion knew no bounds, and her dedication to helping those in need was unwavering.
Kelly’s impact transcended mere actions; she imparted invaluable lessons to everyone she encountered. Her sharp wit, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness brightened the lives of those around her. Through her example, she taught us the true meaning of care and compassion.
