Cindy Klunk Obituary, Death – Cindy Klunk, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after bravely battling cancer for four years. Her journey was one of resilience, marked by unwavering love and cherished moments shared with those closest to her.

 A Life Filled with Love and Family

Born on June 14, 1963, in Jerseyville to Ralph (Jerry) and Lura (Mooney) Brangenberg, Cindy’s life was rooted in love and family from the very beginning. On March 28, 1981, she married William B. Klunk at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Kampsville, embarking on a journey together that would be defined by devotion and mutual respect. Together, they built a life brimming with love and cherished memories, laying a foundation of strength and unity for their family.

 A Legacy of Love and Devotion

Cindy’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She is survived by her loving husband Bill, her two sons Chad (Tess) Klunk and Garrett (Julia) Klunk of Alton, and her five precious grandchildren – Jay, Ty, Hallie, Max, and Rex, whom she affectionately referred to as her “diamonds.” Her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother brought her immense joy, and she embraced it with boundless love and enthusiasm, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be cherished for generations to come.

Cindy’s impact extended far beyond the boundaries of her immediate family. A proud member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton, Cindy was deeply involved in her community, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and generosity.  Celebrating a Life Well-Lived

As friends and loved ones gather to bid farewell to Cindy, they do so with heavy hearts but also with gratitude for the profound impact she had on their lives. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, February 26th, at Gress Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Cindy’s life will take place at 10 am on Tuesday, February 27th, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Kampsville, followed by burial at Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville, IL. As we honor Cindy’s memory, may we find solace in the love she shared and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
