Born on March 7, 1939, in Ithaca, NY, Jim’s journey was marked by his unwavering love for his family and community. He married Margaret “Maggie” Masters on August 22, 1959, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jim and Maggie raised five remarkable children, and their home was always filled with warmth and joy.

 A Passion for Life’s Simple Pleasures

Jim’s passion for life was evident in his diverse interests. From his love of golfing to his enjoyment of refereeing and watching his children and grandchildren participate in various sports, Jim found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He had a keen eye for beauty, evident in his appreciation for beautiful flowers and meticulously cared-for lawns. Jim’s grandchildren adored him, finding joy in his presence and his trademark corny jokes that never failed to elicit laughter.

Jim’s commitment to his family extended beyond the home. He graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1957 and went on to build a successful career with Prudential in upstate New York. Even after retiring, Jim’s dedication to his community remained unwavering. He and Maggie relocated to Riverview, Florida, where they continued to enrich their lives with golfing, maintaining their award-winning yard, and warmly welcoming family for visits.

Jim’s passing on February 14, 2024, in Riverview, Florida, left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. However, his spirit lives on through the countless fond memories and cherished stories shared by those who knew and loved him. As preparations are made to celebrate Jim’s life with a summer 2024 service in Trumansburg, NY, his family, friends, and community come together to honor the remarkable life of a man who touched the hearts of many. The National Cremation Society in Ruskin, Florida, is assisting with the arrangements, ensuring that Jim’s memory is honored with the dignity and respect he deserves.
