Officer Carpenter in the Patrol Division was where Detective Carpenter began his great career with the Gastonia Police Department. His diligence and commitment were rewarded in 2008 when he moved to Internal Affairs and Criminal Investigations and assumed the position of Police Training Sergeant.
A Respected Officer
Detective Carpenter was selected Gastonia’s Police Officer of the Year in 2019 in recognition of his outstanding services to the force. This award recognizes his impact on the community and his fellow officers in addition to his professional ability.
