Born on November 21, 1939, in Cincinnati to Clifford and Loretta Lohrer, Bill’s life journey was marked by service, leadership, and a commitment to communication.

 Education and Career 

Bill’s journey in education began at Colerain High School, where he graduated in 1957. He then pursued his passion for journalism at Ohio University, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree. His career in journalism and public relations flourished, including 21 years as the manager of advertising at Hobart Corporation in Troy. His exceptional communication skills served him well throughout his life, contributing to his success in various roles.

 Service to Community 

Bill’s dedication to his community was unwavering. He served on the Troy City Council for 14 years, with 10 of those years as Council President. Additionally, he was involved in numerous organizations, including the Troy Music Parents Association, Troy Football Parents Association, and the Troy Kiwanis. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce, leaving a lasting impact on the city’s growth and development.

Friends and family will gather to pay their respects at Baird Funeral Home on February 23, 2024, with a Masonic service honoring his lifelong commitment to the fraternity. A funeral service will follow on February 24, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, where Bill was an active member. While he may have passed away, his legacy of service, leadership, and love will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
