Steve Surian Obituary, Death – Steve Surian of Suffolk County, New York has sadly passed away. Steve Surian, a cherished son of Frank and Elaine Surian, was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 2, 1952. Steve made a passionate and noteworthy contribution to the automotive industry while dedicating thirty years of his life to General Motors. To continue serving the public, he continued to work part-time at Gerald R. Ford International Airport for ten years after retiring.
Steve’s family is his entire world.
Steve’s strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact on his teammates and the institutions he worked for. Steve loved spending time with his family; they were the center of his existence. Steve had 48 happy years of marriage to his beloved wife, Jan. Together, they built a life that was brimming with love, humor, and shared adventures. With his children, Melissa (Kyle) DeHorn, Kevin Surian, Jason (Brad) Surian, and Brian (Jerry) Surian, Steve was incredibly proud and content.
The Joy of Raising Children
With his five grandchildren, Madisyn, Raya, Peyton, and Roman, Steve was a loving and proud grandfather who felt immense joy. His kindness, insight, and unshakable devotion helped the younger generation create cherished lifelong memories that will always be remembered. Steve was an avid sports fan, with a special fondness for the University of Michigan teams. Steve exuded a contagious enthusiasm for everything, be it Wolverines fandom or other teams or occasions.

Along with exploring new places and creating priceless memories, he and Jan also enjoyed traveling. Bill Surian, Kimberlee (Matt) Sujkowski, Barbara (Kevin) Luczak, and sister-in-law Sheila Surian, Steve’s remaining siblings, will treasure his memory with immense affection. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Dick (Rhea) Lumsden, Larry (Bernie) Lumsden, Bob (Bev) Lumsden, and Lanny Lumsden, in addition to a huge number of nieces and nephews.

Steve was predeceased by Richard Surian as well as his parents, Frank and Elaine Surian.
