Robert Dean Obituary, Death – Born on August 20, 1934, in Alma, Robert J. Dean was the son of James and Mildred Cline Dean. He spent his formative years in Alma, where he attended Allentown High School. After completing his education, he embarked on a journey that would see him become a beloved figure in the Bolivar community.

 Dedicated Service to Country and Community 

Robert Dean’s life was marked by a commitment to service. He served with honor in the United States Army and later continued his service in the United States Army Reserves. However, it was not just in the military where Dean left his mark. He was deeply involved in community organizations, including the Bolivar United Methodist Church, where his presence was felt and appreciated.

 A Legacy of Entrepreneurship and Leadership 

For fifty years, Robert Dean was synonymous with Bob’s Auto Body Shop in Bolivar. As the owner and operator, he built a reputation for excellence and dedication to his craft. His leadership extended beyond his business, as he served as the President of the Southern Tier Auto Body Association and contributed to the Advisory Board at Alfred State College for the Auto Body/Automotive Technical Program. His legacy of entrepreneurship and leadership continues to inspire those who knew him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert Dean was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His marriage to Frances A. Sturdevant lasted for an incredible 70 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. He cherished time spent with his children, Scott and Amanda, and took great joy in the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dean’s warm and welcoming nature endeared him to all who knew him, whether they were lifelong friends or customers stopping by for a visit.
