Janice was born on June 6, 1950, in Taylorsville to her late parents, James Charles “J.C.” and Betty Jean Ellis Marksbury. Her roots in Taylorsville ran deep, and she was proud to call it home throughout her life. She dedicated herself to her work, serving as a valued employee at Leggett & Platt and TBKY before retiring. In addition to her professional life, Janice was deeply involved in her community and faith. She was a cherished member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church, where she found solace and fellowship.
Her love extended beyond the church walls to her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. Janice is survived by her two sons, Chris (Karen) Pike of Bloomfield and Chad Pike of Pleasureville; two sisters, Debbie Moore of Taylorsville and Kathy Chesser of Gratz; two brothers, Charles David “C.D.” (Peggy) Marksbury of Bardstown and Michael Todd Marksbury of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Cora, Cole, Cameron; and three great-grandchildren, Maggie, Tommy, and Tate.
In accordance with her wishes, the family has chosen cremation, and there will be no public services. While Janice may have passed on from this world, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and unwavering love that will continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.
