Craig S. Gutermuth entered the world on September 23, 1945, in Carmel, California, while his father was serving in the US Navy. He was the loving son of Clara Sheldon Gutermuth of Easton, MD, and the late Allen F. Gutermuth. Craig’s early years were spent in Berlin, where he developed a deep love for the family farm in Pownal, VT. He attended Berlin Central School and Hoosac School before pursuing higher education. Craig graduated from Paul Smith’s College in Saranac Lake with a degree in Forestry and later obtained a degree in Business from North Adams State College in North Adams, MA.
