Car Accident Wakehurst Parkway Today – NSW Police have launched an investigation after receiving reports of a collision on Wakehurst Parkway in Oxford Falls that resulted in the driver of the car being sought after. Emergency services were called to a car that had left the road and collided with a tree in an area known as “the bends,” roughly one kilometer west of the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, just before 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 8.
Crash Information and Reaction
A small orange hatchback is said to have veered off the road and collided with a tree. Witnesses saw the man driver of the automobile get out and start stumbling about. Nevertheless, the driver was nowhere to be found when emergency personnel arrived, prompting a search and rescue mission. On the site were emergency response teams from Northern Beaches Police Area Command, NSW Ambulance, and Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station.
The Effect of Traffic and Later Incident
The driver is still being sought after; investigations are concentrating on the possibility that the person was picked up by another car on the side of the road. Although Wakehurst Parkway traffic was initially only slightly impacted by the incident, another incident happened a little over an hour later. The male driver, age 23, lost control of his car in rainy weather at ‘the curves,’ a little distance west of the original incident scene, at approximately 8:00 p.m.
The vehicle overturned onto its roof, obstructing the lane leading north. Luckily, the young man just suffered a minor cut to his knee and refused NSW Ambulance’s care. Firefighters from Belrose Rural Fire Brigade cleaned debris and fluids from the road while officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command controlled traffic. Before 8:30 p.m., the road was reopened after the damaged car was towed.
