Ronald Powell Obituary, Death – We are sorry to inform you of the quiet passing of Ronald James Powell. He was a beloved part of our neighborhood. At the age of 89, Ron passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. James Powell and Evelyn Powell were his parents. He was the devoted and proud grandfather to Justin, Ashley, Matthew, Alexander, and Analise.

A HAPPY AND SUSTENABLE LIFE
Furthermore, he was a loving father to Ronald Jr., Jane, and David (Cathleen) Powell, as well as a devoted husband to Janet (Velotta) for an amazing 66 years. Ron, affectionately known as “Dad,” spent a significant portion of his life in Solon and developed into a valued member of the neighborhood. His participation in several community events and the Solon Jaycees were testaments to his dedication to civic engagement.

COMMUNITY AND GOLF
Ron showed his commitment to the town he was glad to call home by working as a manager and supporting a past mayor of Solon. Ron had a passion for golf and spent a lot of time honing his skills at Grantwood Golf Course. He would play on Saturday mornings with friends and old partners, in addition to many more rounds. Bingo was his favorite past time, and he and his pals used to get together at Vitalia several times a week to play it. More recently, he enjoyed winning at the game.

A SINCEREOUS FAN OF SPORTS
Ron loved sports, especially football, especially the Cleveland Browns and the Guardians. He was incredibly passionate about sports. His gentle nature and enthusiasm for sports made him popular among his fellow fans. Ron was a devoted family man who took tremendous pleasure in his roles as a grandfather and parent. Those that had the honor of knowing him will always hold a particular place in their hearts for his legacy of love, commitment, and community spirit.
