Jerry Rankin Obituary, After A Hard Fought Battle With Cancer Has Passed Away
Jerry Rankin Obituary, Death – It is with profound sadness that the West Shamokin and Elderton Elementary Wrestling family bids farewell to one of its own, Jerry Rankin. Jerry departed from this world on Thursday, February 15th, following a valiant battle against cancer, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family at home.
A Unique Soul: Jerry was more than just a member of our wrestling community; he was a beacon of unwavering support and boundless enthusiasm. Whether it was manning the concession stand with his trademark humor, playfully griping about the size of the gloves, or tackling mundane tasks like emptying garbage cans or running errands, Jerry did it all with a contagious spirit and a smile that could light up the room. His willingness to go above and beyond for our wrestling family knew no bounds. The significance was particularly poignant for the Rankin family, with Delbert, Jerry’s son, being a senior wrestler.
A Legacy of Dedication: This year marked a significant milestone for West Shamokin with the resurgence of Varsity Wrestling, and it was a privilege to have Jerry witness this milestone, even if only in spirit. Although Jerry couldn’t be present for Delbert’s senior night, we hope it brought solace to know that his relentless dedication had contributed to this momentous occasion.

Though he may have left this world, his impact will forever resonate within our hearts and the wrestling community he cherished so deeply.
