Edwin Nelson Obituary, Death – Edwin Erick Nelson, a cherished member of the Strongsville community, bid farewell on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the age of 87. His passing marks the end of an era for those who knew and loved him dearly. Ed was united in marriage with his beloved wife, Dottie (McDaniel) Nelson, for an inspiring 67 years. Their enduring love and partnership served as a beacon of strength and devotion to all who had the privilege of witnessing it.
A Legacy of Family: Ed’s legacy extends through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Dottie survives him, alongside their children: Vicky (Eric) Schroeter, Kim (Mark) Kaminski, and Scott (Annie) Nelson. He is survived by grandsons Keith (Tiffany) Schroeter, Matthew (Brittany) Kaminski, granddaughters Kalie (Kevin) Kowal, and Kristin (Bill) Jacobi. His great-grandchildren include Zach (Heather) Schroeter, Ian Schroeter, Caden Jacobi, Avery Kaminski, and even a great-great-granddaughter, Angel Schroeter.
A Life of Passion and Dedication: Born in Grassflat, PA, Ed’s life was marked by a deep passion for various pursuits. He retired from GM after a long and fulfilling career, during which he developed a fondness for GM cars, trading them in every three years without fail. Beyond his professional endeavors, Ed found solace in the great outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He had a knack for solving puzzles, relished in country music, and cherished the camaraderie of his numerous friends and cousins.
A Fond Farewell: Ed’s congenial nature and infectious humor will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In honor of his memory, a celebration of life will be held at the Brunswick Eagles on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice, serving as a fitting tribute to a life well-lived.
